Cal head coach Mark Madsen announced on Wednesday that Jeremiah Wilkinson, a 6’1” guard from Georgia, signed with Cal for the 2024-25 season.
Jeremiah Wilkinson, a three-star recruit, joins Cal head coach Mark Madsen and the Bears as their first 2024 signee.
Wilkinson, who had offers from Mississippi State, Butler, Florida and more, committed to Cal on Aug. 30. Madsen made the decision official Wednesday after Wilkinson signed a letter of intent to play for Cal next season.
The 6’1” combo guard from Powder Springs, Georgia, will join the program next fall for its first season as a member of the ACC.
Wilkinson is currently playing for The Skill Factory in Atlanta. His signing comes after earning MVP honors with a 45-point performance in a recent tournament showcase. Wilkinson has also spent time on the AAU circuit for Game Elite, where he averaged 15.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the 2023 season. Former Bear and current NBA star Jaylen Brown played for the same AAU program back in 2014.
In an interview with RYZE Hoops, Wilkinson described his commitment to Cal as a “no-brainer.”
“I think I’ll fit in really good … coach Madsen is a coach who came from the NBA, so they run a pro-style system and I feel that will really help me get as good as I can be and help me get to the next level,” Wilkinson said.
Currently, the Bears’ backcourt is led by senior Devin Askew and fifth-year guard Jalen Cone, with freshmen Vladimir Pavlovic and Rodney Brown Jr. running the second unit. Wilkinson’s role is yet to be determined but he will accompany a Madsen-led team that will have an active and eligible Jaylon Tyson, in addition to future recruits.
